There are 23 manifestations of Tara, with corresponding attributes. This sculpture is white Tara who symbolizes peace and purification. Her left hand is held in the abhaya mudra, which signifies protection and freedom of fear. The right hand is held in the varada mudra, symbolizing forgiveness and mercy.
